Freedom Improvisations I - VIII
Freedom Improvisations I - VIII a story of "getting out of control", of "not being controlled anymore, of playing with the provocations of the Cold War. In the tradition of Ukrainian avant-garde opposition, voices of resistance and criticism of imperialism resound, proclaiming their freedom and independence anew. The album unites all peaces which never fitted into a category. They arose out of improvisations on the instruments, being continued in a very collage-like way of editing.

Chaika
"Chaika" flew over me in Odessa. Deepest pandemic year 2021 could not enprison my soul. It found itself during one-month stay next to the Black Sea shore. In the clear horizon line of wide waters I find the biggest joy and freedom. It is based on the serie of short poems under the title "migrational opposition". Guess, whom it is about? And why it is on duty?
As a seagull can hear the sea
The migrant opposition is on duty.
Tea is steaming, pouring grief into the sea.
And above the sea, an anthracite
aladin of half-conscious desires
hangs in a cloud, hangs in a cloud.

New Lands ft. Mzati
We release two old tracks, which were recorded in Blantyre, Malawi, where I spent 3 months in 2017. The collabo between Mzati and me was fruitful and musically we matched well, since he came up with lyrics, vocals and guitar while I played other instruments, taking 5 years to finish these two tracks on the other side of the world, entering NEW LANDS genre-wise and geographically! Also, how many Malawian-Ukrainian-German collaborations have you heard so far?!
Thanks to Robin 2k for adding some drums and to Shusty Bones and Daniel Gaiser for horns in the Transcontinental Jam.
And of course big props and thanks to the one and only Vitaliy Guryn for this amazing art work, an analogue-digital collage of a shell. It was found between the continents in deep waters, being a tiny beautiful symbol of union and secrets.

СВЕТ.SVET EP
Dear you,
the text below which originally should accompany this release on the 28th of January 2022. One month later, russia started bombing my home land Ukraine. I had difficulties to release this EP. Despite already existing invasion in Donetsk and Luhansk in the Eastern Ukraine and despite the annexation of Crimea I believed that most people with whom I work, would go along with my Ukrainian, Kurdish and Indonesian friends to make it an EP for peace and understanding. When the full scale war started, I asked my friends in Russia and Kazakhstan what their social position is. Unfortunatelly, most of them did not go along with us. I won´t write their names.
I took "Svet" out from all streaming platforms. BUT: I will leave it here to pay respect and give props to my partners in crime and to other brave artists who are totally behind Ukraine. I ask you to listen to our music and buy those tracks. The money will be donated to our friends in Ivano-Frankivsk who started a programm for the "evacuation of art" already in the first day of russia´s war. Support our music!
[...global community, global beats ... in this small EP so maaaaaaany people are involved! Singers and musicians from Kazakhstan, Russia, Kurdistan, Germany and Ukraine are on these three tracks. One original and two remixes which were sent to me or recorded together during a residency. Both remixes 'Svet' and 'Zdes' are accompanied by video works. 'Zdes' with a Ukrainian dancer Viktoriya Skrypnyk and the Crimean film maker Zuleikha Murtazaieva and 'Svet' by the Kilau Luminasi Derau Rerinai Collective from Indonesia. The cover photo is an analogue, shot in Lviv (UA), signed by the artist Zagalaksy.
Most works were finished during the lock-down. So, we switched to online collaboration and I am happy that we did not stop! It opened new doors to transcultural musicking, even despite some wars and conflicts between our countries. And that´s what I am most thankful for. Hugs!]

Unluggy
If the single "Unluggy" (in Ukrainian: Ой я нещасний“) should have a motto, it would sound like following: "I am sad to have allured a lot of bad luck, but I am the luckiest one to have experienced all that sadness." It is a close-to-heart approach to life and its constant carousel of emotions and feelings which just exist - no way to deny them. Thus, listen to the first sonic catalysis of the upcoming album "5th Sunday".

Cherry Garden
In the cherry garden, a nightingale twittered songs. From generation to generation a lot of things have changed – family members migrated, with a small package of family history and memories of the cherry garden. An obvious clash of culture or rather a continuation of traditions? This well known Ukrainian folk song is accompanied by a video produced by two video artists from Indonesia – KLDR (Kilau Luminasi Derau Rerinai aka Shine of Lumination & a Noise of Raindrops). Happy to announce that the full album "5th Sunday" will be released on the 5th Sunday of this month on my bandcamp before it comes out on Spotify.

5th Sunday ALBUM
5th Sunday is a rare occasion to sit down and to think about the roots. Unluggy to the maximum – also known as East Sadness – the soul pain is something very common here. Fly high and cherish, my soul, fly high in the sky … fall down from the cloud … reality check … back again to the place "Woiden", just another settlement where not surprisingly soul pain also exists. Why? Because the roots of a cherry tree are deep.

Coinzzz ft. Julie Shamaani
It is not a real story, but as so many other songs – it could be just another „I will survive“ song, with a post-soviet touch. It starts with vibrating coinzzz while the plates are trembling. It continues with a state of confusion and disharmony. It leads through painfull experience of loneliness, dark times and revenche thoughts. Is it time to pay back? For what and to whom!? It is the time to grow and let the history behind. Your history is in my hands, I keep it as a life lesson and forward it to all the future generations who shall not fall in those traps of the past.

In The New System ft. Muhanya Pachanya
'The New System' is our wish, our vision of the future, the necessity for all upcoming generations. You define and simultaneously represent The New System. Now, drivin' in the new system - the interhuman mzanga bond of Muhanya and Masha is up to a transcendent creation of sounds and pictures which flow into the direction of mind shifts and utopian phantasies.
'In The New System' is a story told by the talented musician Muhanya Pachanya from Blantyre (MW). In collaboration and support of Pachanya's Studio, the track was recorded at the end of 2017 and together with the video, its production was finalized just now.

МУЗИ.MUZY EP
United by nostalgia, five obviously sentimental composers of the last century come together in Masha's present. They remain her dreamy inspirations and distant muses. Therefore it does not matter, if they understand the contemporary arrangement and choice of instruments, especially drum sounds. They got translated into today and translocated with overlayed soloing by Youssef Nassif (Syria) and Makhangakhunga (Malawi) to places where they might have not been yet.
These five works by Moondog, Astor Piazzola, Steve Reich, Philip Glass and Emmanuel Sejourné were composed between 1969 and 1999, each of them similar through the minimalistic approach and unpredictable melodic flow.
Thanx to all who contributed their energy and skills to make this album how it is – Youssef Nassif, Makhangakhunga, Stefan Littmann, Camilla Löffler-Berg, young.vishnu and cars10 for graphic design.

Hey, Driver! ft. Makhangakhunga
You know the feeling, when for whatever reasons your inner voice is shouting „Get outa here for a while!“, right? The sences already got tired to absorb more dust, more noise, more information. Another intercontinental collab between Masha and Fat B, another day dream, another magnificent spot in Malawi to put in scene - the Mulanje Massif. „Hey, driver!“ is an escape song about fearlessly hitting the road through obstacles to reach the better world where birds fly in slow-mow, where waters start their journey.

Nkhata Bay (Keep Me Alive) ft. Makhangakhunga
It was Christmas 2017. Dean Glossop and Masha came to Nkhata Bay without knowing anything about each other. The bunch of magnific spots around the Lake Malawi attrakted many people, mostly travellers from „far away from home“ to relax next to water. This is the place where the basic guitar loop was recored during a jam session. After a rough arrangement of vocals, base lines and drums, Masha made acquaintance with Brian Makhangakhunga, in Blantyre famous under the synonyme Fat B. He was presenting his new poetry during an open stage night @Kwa Haraba. She invited him to a home session in her spartan home studio. Unfortunately, highly recurrent electricity black outs played a prank again, so that all recordings needed to be done in two hours of lap top battery endurance. No problem for Fat B. The second take of his rap was IT. A long-desired video could never get produced since two weeks later Masha finished her internship in Blantyre and returned back to Hanover and Brian started a job in an insurance company.
